GAME DAY (P2): Isles Prospects Take on the Devils

New York Islanders at New Jersey Devils, 7:00pm ET
Prudential Center — Newark, NJ

TV: Isles’ website — Radio: Noneislesbar

Tonight the Islanders head to Newark for the first of two pre-season games against the Devils. While Tuesday night was a split-squad game, tonight’s tilt will feature just one roster and it’s mostly going to be younger Islanders.

Kevin Poulin will play the whole game in net, likely against two periods of Marty Brodeur for the Devils. The Devils lines are here and here if you’re interested. Here’s how the Islanders lines looked at the pre-game skate, which is a pretty good indicator of what they will be tonight, per Arthur Staple:

Bailey – Nielsen – Okposo
Lee – Nelson – Strome
Gallant – Regin – Boulton
Quine – Miller – Diamond

Dalhuisen – Martinek
Pedan – Mayfield
Reinhart – Pulock

A quick refresher on a couple of names there that may not look familiar… Andrey Pedan is a third rounder from 2011 and Alan Quine was a 2013 sixth round pick. Joey Diamond was signed to a NHL/AHL deal in April after graduating from the University of Maine. Riley Wetmore (UMass-Lowell), Mike Dalhuisen (Quinnipiac) and Greg Miller (Cornell) are all undrafted free agents, signed out of college by the Sound Tigers.

Remember, you can watch this game online at the Islanders official website. I reached out to the Islanders yesterday to find out if the rest of the pre-season will be streamed online as well, but was told that is still “TBD.”
