Buzz: Garth Snow Isn’t Planning To Make A Coaching Change

During the first period of the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings game, Darren Dreger mentioned that he exchanged text messages with Islanders GM Garth Snow and Snow said that he wasn’t planning to make a coaching change.

Dreger was asked by host James Duthie if Jack Capuano’s job was on the line and Dreger responded, “not according to GM Garth Snow via text message. Snow said that he is not…NOT making a coaching change.”

He added, “the fans have been all over Capuano and in general over the NY Islanders. They lost their sixth in a row to the Washington Capitals last night and on Friday night the fans were chanting ‘fire Cappy’ so there is obvious concern but Snow said that he is not making that change just yet.”

Let's take a friendly poll- Which is more dysfunctional - The ownership and back office of the islanders or Congress? .....The unfortunate part is the US could print money to make up for constant failure but the islanders can't print goals!

How is it obvious that hiring a guy who got fired because his team was in the basement (which went on fire after he got turfed) is going to turn this around? They've only got two established NHL blueliners who aren't past their expiration dates. Laviolette isn't going to change that. The only way to rectify that is to move prospects or picks, which will lead to even more anger than doing nothing. It's a young team that is coming along. Lubo and Strait's injuries came at a really bad time. They were never expected to make a run this year to begin with. Let's have some patience. You don't build a contender with a small budget overnight. The fact that the team has such a strong young core is a testament to Garth Snow. And for those of you who hate Charlie Wang, please let me know who else is willing to buy a team and lose millions of his own money every year?

IPB...give us the full quote please and not what you want in the headline. Your headline makes it seem like Snow is NOT open to it. Actually, he didn't make that clear..he said not at the moment. Another couple of losses might be his "moment" time.

Snow isn't planning on making a change. He is planning his speech to the fans at the Draft party when they get the number one overall again and he is also planning his statement wishing John Tavares well when he signs with Chicago.

What a surprise. Snow turns the other cheek to another issue that needs to be addressed. Enjoy being the laughing stock Garth

That's fine. Then fire the GM who's too stupid to fire the coach.
