Uniondale, NY — Nassau Coliseum — MSG+
Tonight the Islanders get a visit from a team they thrououghly beat a week ago, the Pittsburgh Penguins. The thing is though, that the Penguins look like a team on the war path since the Islanders beat them 4-1 on national television in their own house. The Pens are 3-0 since that game and have beaten the Rangers, Devils and Capitals by a combined 14-4 (!). Also of note is that the Penguins have gone to Tomas Vokoun in two of these three games and Vokoun has only allowed three goals on 52 shots. We’ll see if the Penguins continue their dominant ways tonight, in what will surely be a tough test for the Islanders.
In terms of lineup changes, Colin McDonald is back from suspension and will take his place back on the third line. Eric Boulton will sit tonight to make room and Casey Cizikas is on the fourth line, with Evgeni Nabokov in goal.
It’s unclear if the removal of Kyle Okposo from the first line at practice the other day will be in place tonight. Okposo and Boyes will swap places on the wing.
Moulson – Tavares – Boyes
Grabner – Nielsen – Okposo
Ullstrom – Aucoin – McDonald
Martin – Reasoner – Cizikas
Hamonic – MacDonald
Streit – Strait
Carkner – Hickey
