Islanders Re-Sign Thomas Hickey

The Islanders have announced that they have re-signed defender Thomas Hickey to a two-year deal. Hickey was acquired off waivers from the Kings in January. He had been a restricted free agent and was tendered a qualifying offer earlier this month and was not eligible to elect arbitration.

Last season, Hickey had 4 points in 39 games, his first season in the NHL. He spent much of the season in an effective pairing with Lubomir Visnovsky. The pair were among the top players on the team in corsi.
