The folks at Rutgers University are conducting a study about how Islander fans get to and from both the Coliseum and Barclays Center and they’ve asked us to pass along a survey to you to help with their project. The survey is anonymous and if you would like to participate, please click here. Here’s the full description of what this study is about:
Amid the glitz (or rust) of the Barclays Center and its proximity to many forms of public transit, the Islanders’ game-attending fan base may shift as soon as the doors to the new arena open. One of the main reasons for the impending shift in the fan base is the new location and new transportation patterns that fans will endure. For some people, their travel to games might become easier and cheaper, but for others it may become unbearably lengthy and/or expensive.
How will you be impacted by the move to Brooklyn? Will it make your travel to games easier or more of a burden? Will you attend fewer games at the Barclays Center than you have been attending at Nassau Coliseum?
Rutgers University is conducting a study to project the future changes in travel patterns for fans and the significant impact that these changes will have. All Islanders fans are encouraged to take this brief survey (less than 12 minutes). The results of the survey may help influence the quality and quantity of transportation service for Islanders fans across the region to travel to games.
