2012 Year In Review — Looking Back at Lockouts, Brooklyn and More
To kickoff our year-end posts here at Point Blank, I’ve compiled a list of the biggest stories on the Island this year. It was quite a year with the move to Brooklyn being announced, the lockout and much more. There’s more to come in the next couple of days, but for now here’s a quick look at everything that happened.

22 Lubomir Visnovksy was traded to LI, then we thought he might not come. Griffin Reinhart was taken with the fourth pick.
25 The Islanders might have offered all of their draft picks to Columbus
27 Brent Thompson was named assistant coach
1 The Islanders nabbed UFAs Matt Carkner, Brad Boyes, and Eric Boulton. PA Parenteau signed in Colorado.
18 Bridgeport hired Scott Pellerin
23 Visnovsky filed a grievance about his trade to the Isles
1 Rick DiPietro was activated off IR and we found out ESPN would be doing a John Spano documentary
