Newark, NJ — Prudential Center — MSG+2
Tonight the Islanders head to New Jersey for a matchup against the still-haven’t-lost-in-regulation Devils. The Devils are 3-0-2 on the young season and sit atop the Atlantic Division. A regulation win tonight and the Islanders would leapfrog the Devils for the top spot. It’s still early, but that would be a nice way to finish out what’s been a good road trip. The Isles are 2-1-1 so far on the trip, and a 3-1-1 road trip early on would go a long way to building confidence for this young team.
This is actually the first of back-to-backs for these two teams, as the Devils and Islanders play again on Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum. Not a bad way to start off Super Bowl Sunday with a little bit of hockey.
Tonight, the Devils will have two of their younger players back; Adam Larsson and Adam Henrique. The Adams will both make their season debut tonight. Henrique is coming off of thumb surgery where he had a ligament reattached (yikes), while Larsson has been a healthy scratch.
As for the Islanders, the lineup will remain mostly the same. With Colin McDonald sitting out due to a suspension Casey Cizikas will take his spot on the third line; a great opportunity for Cizikas to play with some guys who have a bit more of an offensive touch. McDonald’s suspension also pushes Eric Boulton back into the lineup.

Ullstrom – Aucoin – Cizikas
