Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Islanders, 7:00pm ET
Uniondale, NY — Nassau Coliseum — MSG+2, WLNY
Tonight the Lightning come to the Coliseum in yet another important game in the playoff push. The Rangers and Devils are also in action tonight, so the Islanders will need points. All three of the locals play at 7pm. The Devils, for what it’s worth, are hosting Toronto who is four points ahead of the Islanders. If the Devils win that one in regulation, the Eastern Conference could actually become a closer race than it already is.
At the trade deadline, the Lightning acquired Ben Bishop from the Ottawa Senators. Bishop, a 26-year old netminder, had a 45-save shutout in his debut for Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Bishop will get the start in net tonight for Tampa Bay. Tampa is riding a bit of a hot streak, 3-0-1 in their last four, and 5-3-1 since these two teams last met on March 14th. That was a 2-0 win for the Isles in Tampa.
For the Islanders, they’ll be in the black jerseys today and the game will be simulcast over the air on WLNY, which is usually channel 10 or 55 (it’s also on MSG+2). Evgeni Nabokov, as he has 32 times already, will get the start in net. Marty Reasoner is out tonight, and Capuano is deciding between Anders Lee and Jesse Joensuu for the extra spot.
