It’s another slow day in the off-season, but we’re got some reading material to get you through it. One of the most surprising things that happened yesterday was what went down at the IIHF World Championships. Both the Americans and Canadiens were sent packing by European counterparts. The Canadian squad was downed 4-3 by Slovakia and in a turn that will anger all the commenters that hate to hear about him, Jesse Joensuu scored twice against Kyle Okposo and the Americans to give the Finns a 3-2 win. Moving on, if you answered Trevor Gillies to the question in the blog title, you’re a winner. The Mets all had on hockey jerseys for their trip to Toronto yesterday and Isles/Mets announcer Howie Rose sported a #14 jersey with Rose’s name on the back.

The real winner in my book though was David Wright with the classic Goldberg jersey from the Mighty Ducks movies (bonus points for evoking childhood memories).
