According to Staple, Capuano states that "this is not the AHL, with have to get him ACCLIMATED to our meetings!I have been waiting for someone to pinch me for the last 15 minutes to say wake up your having an Islander nightmare again Doug Fiumara 5pts Strome scratched tonoght per Staple... puckznpadz 5pts We should all enjoy Strome making his debut tonight. Here is some home grown talent we have been waiting for. While we are not expecting miracles the mere presence of this kid will add a dynamic that others will have to defend against.Lines: Vanek - JT - KONelson - Strome - Clutterbuck (while and agitator he can play and protect Strome) Grabs - Frans - BaileyMartin - CC - BoultonPoulinNilsson Rich Green 5pts Hopefuly, it's one of the last times the Islanders have to play a road game in this hockey wasteland. John Cangelosi 5pts Man the negative sentiment on this page is getting old...Why do you read the blogs and follow the team if all you're going to do is bash them and bitch? Granted the teams in ruins right now, but how can the arrival of our best prospect and the future of the Islanders be turned into a negative? This is one of the biggest days in the Islanders rebuild whether it should be or not, be optomistic and hopeful that Strome is going to be a pivotal part of the Islanders top six offense for years to come. He can (and will) bring some of that secondary scoring the team has been dying for and could give that little bit of pulse this team needs to re find itself...All things considered, the best way to mask an incredibly subpar defense is to play the game in the opponents end of the ice. That's something that Strome can bring to the table. Rich Colacino 5pts Capuano will likely mis-use Strome and waste him on the 4th line 9min a night. gleichzahl 5pts nice job reader josh. red2 5pts Strome gets #18... Once upon a time we had a #18 who probably should be in the rafters of the Mausoleum. If Strome can deliver like Eddie did, then all will be okay... Derek Scheer 5pts Good Luck Strome , could this be a pick Garth finally got right ? John Raco 5pts My hope "obviously" for Strome to make the big leagues without hampering development because of this NEGATIVE mess they are now in. With that being said...I would love to see the line of Strome centering Bailey and Nelson, this would be more a test for Bailey than the other two rookies. I could see the coaching staff clearly laying this out to Bailey (assumed they actually know what to do)- if Bailey fails- then packaging him at trade deadline with other dead weight to recoup those picks from the Vanek trade would be an almost sure thing. This could be a very amicable divorce :-)Now of course if this 2nd or 3rd line gels as we can all hope, this will at least be an exciting season to watch regardless of whether we do or do not make the playoffs. Bailey will have finally seen the light and begin to be the player he was touted to be. Snow will have saved himself further embarrassment and I could see Wang opening up the wallet big time in the summer to close out Nassau on a high note and moving to Brooklyn a serious playoff contender...not cup, but playoff. Okay stop laughing guys...I know...I know...Of course when a team plays on a positive high, they play having fun securing jobs and positions, that is every other 7 and 8th seed teams possible nightmare if they fall short while a pain in the ass Isles team is on their tail in March.Just trying to find a speck of hope and positive aura :-) Anthony Saccone 5pts Looking Forward to see how this plays out with Strome. I'm hoping the put him in a top six role. I can't see them breaking up the first line with how their chemistry is finally coming into play and they have been the only line to score. Would like to see him on the 2nd line with Bailey and Nielsen. nymarc 5pts Stop Going to the Games so Snow and Cappy can go!! truth77 5pts Good luck Ryan Strome! wmayshays 5pts Holey cr4p, I'm actually excited to watch an Islanders game... been a while. Could be a nice boost of energy to the team, just what the doctor ordered.Good luck Strome, hope you hit the ground running. GZ 5pts I'd rather be dead in California that alive in Phoenix. jepliberty 5pts Strome's bags are in Phoenix already? Snow probably already traded him for way in the future assets. Ari BZ 5pts Is he coincidentally staying at the same hotel as the Isles in Phoenix? Io-dc Piper 5pts Been focusing on draft for so many seasons not sure what to do now.. lol John Edwards 5pts I get it but aww c'mon. Is's BAD on LI but... LI>BST SHow us what ya got kid. Im excited Mike Labuski 5pts Sorry for his demotion to the islanders shlo 5pts Nicely said. Some people expect Strome to be the Messiah , he is one more badly needed piece in the puzzle. Wish him and the team all the best. Now let's work on the defense. If Poulin can maintain the form he showed last time, the goalie problem is partially solved. (capable backup needed) Rich Colacino 5pts @red2 EW18 did nothing to get his number retired. Just playing for the team and being captain does not get your jersey retired. Matt Rogers 5pts He hasn't made a bad draft pick yet he only makes questionable moves when they get them since72 5pts @John Raco The way Bailey is playing and with another 4 years to go with a $3.3 mio cap hit, no team will have any interest in him whatsoever. He would clear waivers right now! grand_puba 5pts @Anthony Saccone I'm really curious where in the lineup Strome ends up...I don't know which 2 line mates really would suit his play the best, but I would imagine playing with Nielsen could be pretty good. Rich Colacino 5pts @GZ Spoken like someone who has never been to Phoenix......California is a crap hole. doc942 5pts Really? What does that even mean? Just wondering... wmayshays 5pts Time to start seeing some more youngsters make a difference. Hopefully, the young talent is developed well. Joey Ferguson 5pts @shlo thats where nabby comes in at least for this season red2 5pts @shloIf Poulin can maintain the form he showed in San Jose,,, he's the messiah... red2 5pts @Rich Colacino @red2I do beg to differ,,, Westfall was the leader that a young, expansion team needed. Two years into their infancy he led them into the playoffs. He was almost a father figure to a young band of kids. Trottier, Potvin, Bossy, Gillies, and a host of others on the cup roster were all under his wing. His number may not be retired but, he is in the Islanders Hall of Fame, his plaque adorns the locker room hallway. We might be better served right now to have a player of his stature guiding the kids Snow drafted... GZ 5pts @Rich Colacino @GZ its a joke from a show called Arrested Development. I lived in phx for 8 years. It's a sh*thole. You're rt about Cali ... I'm in Denver now. Doesn't get any better. No Strome tonight. This organization is a joke. Brains Gambino 5pts doc942 not the brightest star in the sky, are you? shlo 5pts Amen.
