VIDEO — Raucous Nassau Coliseum Crowd Chants “We Want Playoffs”

With a minute to go in tonight’s game at the Nassau Coliseum between the Islanders and Flyers, Casey Cizikas secured the win with an empty net goal. That put the Isles up 4-1 and afterwards the crowd erupted into chants of “we want playoffs” and, mockingly, “last place Flyers.” The former came up loud and clear on the MSG+ broadcast of the game, even though the announced attendance was 13,888, which was far short of the Coliseum’s capacity of 16,170.

With the Isles holding a 7-1-1 record in their last nine games, the Coliseum has been rocking. The same chants of playoffs erupted Saturday night from a sold out crowd. With the win and the Senators losing in regulation tonight, the Islanders moved into a tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
